Ravi Teja - Kandireega - Krishna Vamsi

Right after the release of Mahatma, Krishna Vamsi is gearing up for his next project, currently titled Kandireega, which will star Ravi Teja.

The pair have worked together twice before, in 1997’s Sindooram and 2002’s Khadgam. While they were socially themed movies, Kandireeega reportedly will be more of a ‘mass entertainer’.

According to my sources, Ravi Teja’s character will be the great-great-grandson of Sri Krishnadevaraya, Emperor of the famed Vijayanagara empire.

Lakshmi Rai, of 2005’s Kanchanamala Cable TV, fame has been tapped to play the female lead, and the rest of the supporting cast is being finalized as we speak.

Kandireega is jointly produced by Bellamkonda Suresh and Uppalapati Ravi under the Sri Sai Ganesh Productions banner. The launch of the film is scheduled for November, with the first shooting schedule beginning on December 2nd.

Ravi Teja will also be shooting for Don Seenu after Sambho Siva Sambho wraps up, so the next few months will be quite busy for the actor.

Incidentally, Sambho Siva Sambho is also produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under the same banner. As for the rest of the crew, the only solid info we have right now is that Krishna Vamsi is providing the story, screenplay and dialogues in addition to directing. No word yet on who will be composing the music for the film.
