katha release october 29

Katha, starring Genelia and Arun Kumar, is set to the hit the screens on October 29th. The film, which is directed by newcomer Srinivas Raga and produced by Gunnam Gangaraju under the Just Yellow banner, is scheduled to have it’s audio release on October 13th.

Just Yellow is known for picking unique scripts, like their previous Aithe for example, and this one is no different. The plot revolves around Genelia playing a schoolteacher in a remote hillstation and Arun as a filmmaker who has come to the hillstation to scout locations for his debut film. Romance blossoms between Genelia and Arun, but all is not right with the pair.

The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj and Shafi, who play a police officer and a constable respectively. In an interview, the director stated, Katha is a romantic thriller. There are no hero and heroine in the story. The actors Genelia, Arun, Prakash Raj, Shafi and Raghu Babu are all pivotal characters who run the narration of the story.”

The movie was primarily shot in Araku, with post-production work being completed in Hyderabad. My sources tell me that Genelia has finished her talkie parts and is gearing up for the launch of her next movie, co-starring Ram Charam Teja. Arun, a Tamil actor making his Telugu debut with this film, has also completed his work and is back in Chennai.

As for the rest of the crew: S K Balachandran has composed music, which will be launched in October. Gangaraju Gunnam is providing the dialogues apart from producing this movie, while Ravinder is handling the artwork and Andrew is behind the camera.
